The Mountain
Nendaz is the gateway to the 4 Vallées — Switzerland's largest ski area, shared with the legendary Verbier. 414km of terrain, 83 lifts, and a glacier at 3,330m that guarantees snow from November to April.
But what makes Nendaz special isn't the numbers. It's what lies beyond the pistes. Seven marked freeride zones snaking down from Mont-Fort. Open powder fields, high alpine couloirs, tree runs all the way to the village. One of the greatest lift-access backcountry areas in Europe — and the mountain that gave birth to the Backcountry Invitational.

The Village
Haute-Nendaz
Nendaz isn't a manufactured resort. It's a mountain town. Traditional wooden chalets, a 17th-century chapel, a community that has lived and breathed mountain culture for centuries. In winter, Hérens cows take up residence in the village cattle sheds. Local raclette, Valais wine, fondue after a day on the mountain. The kind of place that feels the same at the end of the day as it does at the start — just better.

where we stay
Mad Mount Hotel
Steps from the Tracouet gondola, right in the heart of the resort. Modern cabin-style rooms built with sustainably sourced Swiss wood, a full spa — hammam, sauna, Japanese onsen — and the Madly restaurant with panoramic views of the Alps. The kind of place where riders end the day the right way.
